Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has come up with this wonderful commercial which will surely make us sing the childhood rhyme If you're happy and you know it.. clap your hands!
Yet another long runner I must say. Because it touches us in some or the other way.
As far as the concept execution and the reality is concerned, take any product and you'll know it! (NOM for the Honda opponents)
I personally like Honda for it's quality :)

Well! Well! Well! I guess somebody was already prepared with the masterpiece when i had brought my attention to the ad-world where every ad is competing the other, and in this scenario, what should our ad-makers create so that people could remember it for years!! (check out my last post)
Only a few days later, we could see an outstanding advertisement during IPL, which everybody is talking about. Yes! It's the ZooZoo commercial of Vodafone.
The creativity behind this beautiful artwork is beyond imagination. The surprise element is that the ZooZoo is not an animation but a real person wearing a costume :)
I'm sure you have not missed a single commercial as they are so much popular, but in case you've missed any, you can check it out here.
Now don't forget to watch the making of these commercials!

Yeah! after a long time something caught me up & i fell into writing this post on my blog. Well... i got nostalgic about the old ads when i found a nice article on 'Brand Equity - An Economic Times Edition'
The article was about the Hindustan Uniliver Limited (HUL)'s "Wheel", its success story, how it became world's largest selling detergent in volume terms. So lets watch out the change in advertising of the brand over one-two decades :)

Well.. I think both ads were effective at the time when they broadcasted. You'd remember the dialogues of first ad for years. But.. I'm not sure how much tough work our admakers have to do for competing in this era of advertising when no ad is less than the other.. & how they'll make the audience to recite their ads for years!

This is a hoarding layout designed by my friend for his venture Linux Academy:

Fabulous creation… isn’t it? As Linux Academy is an open source software training company, for its advertisement the emphasis is given on the open source. I liked the concept of ‘open’, the slogan “want to break free?... Shout it Open!” a perfect match with the boy’s expressions. It would definitely grab the eyes of every passer-by. One thing I noticed is the text arrangement… could be a li’l better I think. But again, it’d be unnoticeable before the awesome images. Good job! Finally selected. It could be seen on a hoarding at Chetak Bridge, Bhopal.

I didn’t know what was it, when in the morning I suddenly stopped my finger on the remote while surfing TV channels. I saw Amitabh Bachchan saying something which was smoothly rolling into my ears. I was feeling a wave of enthusiasm running across my body. That was a sudden jerk to my mind that said I really like it. He was talking about two kinds of India. It made me think of both of them, in a way that it stretched me from one kind of India towards the other.

And then I googled ‘India Poised’ and found what exactly was it…

Taking 2007 as the year of India, The Times Of India group has started a 6-week long campaign named ‘INDIA POISED’ to celebrate the 60 years of freedom of India. For the campaign, the times of india group along with its television partner, Times Now, will pry open areas of public governance, infrastructure, health, business and economy, environment, social sector and culture, among others, to sort the stars from the non-performers. And what I was watching was Amitab Bachchan reciting the India Poised anthem.

The theme is really wonderful, INDIA POISED… i.e. India in a position that is completely still but is ready to move at any moment.

A couple gets ready to leave for theatre in their car. The lady makes her husband notice...

..the almost empty fuel tank. The husband assures her, “Alto hai”. Seeing a diversion..

..ahead on the flyover, the husband takes a u-turn while his wife worryingly stares...

...the fuel gauge. Driving through narrow streets, they come across a marriage procession.

Without worrying about the fuel, the husband changes the course and looks for a short cut when they get caught up...

... in a traffic jam. Having full trust in the car’s mileage, the husband again changes the route while his wife gets impatient.

VO: “Hamare desh mein chhote-chhote faasle aksar lambe ho jaate hain. Isiliye humein chhaiye sabse zyada mileage waali car. Alto,
jo de 17.6 km perlitre.”

As the couple finally reaches the theatre, the husband realizes that he has forgotten the tickets at home. The ad ends as they head back home. VO: “Alto. Let’s go on and on.”

A nice commercial to woo the Indian public. It emphasizes the great mileage and reasonable price of the car. A remarkable work is done on the storyline. No doubt it would tick many minds. But the car looks ordinary, the ad contains no such matter that bears on the looks & luxury… Alto looks good...even better than it looks in this ad ;) ...It's a nice compact small car. The advertisement could have been much better with some more accents on the looks. We wish the next ad to be as stylish as the Alto is...
so that it'll go on & on...
